IPTV World Series Awards 2007 to debut in London The IPTV World Forum, taking place on 5th-7th March 2007, has announced it will be hosting the debut awards ceremony, specifically for the IPTV market; The IPTV World Series Awards 2007. The IPTV market is rapidly maturing, and the time has come for it to be recognized as having major successes in the advancement of IPTV deployment. The IPTV World Series Awards 2007 will provide a much-needed showcase, and will be able to demonstrate and congratulate the high levels of talent that the IPTV industry has to offer.
The categories will cover the core technology requirements for IPTV, from platform management and the headend through the network and into the customer home.Any company or organisation can enter the IPTV World Series Awards and there is no entry fee. All entries must be in by Friday January 5th 2007, and companies have the opportunity to enter a maximum of ten entries across the following award categories: • Best IPTV platform management/middleware/application solution • Best IPTV distribution/transport/delivery solution • Best IPTV headend & video processing technology • Best IPTV customer premise equipment technology • Best IPTV content protection/rights management solution The awards will be independently judged by an expert panel taken from and the shortlists will be profiles in New Video Technology magazine during February. The judges announced so far are: John Moulding, Editor, New Video Technology, Stephen McClelland, Editor-in-Chief, Telecommunications, Steve Hawley, Editor, IPTV News Analyst (and respected IPTV consultant/analyst), and Stuart Thomson, Editor, Cable and Satellite Europe. As an official supporter of the IPTV World Series Awards 2007, New Video Technology will also profile the winning technologies in their May/June 2007 printed edition, as well as in IPTV news (website and newsletter) which currently has a subscriber base of over 6,000.
