The IPTV World Forum, being held in March 2007, is seeing a record number of exhibitors signing up to demonstrate and exhibit their products and services.

Looking at almost double figures from last years World Forum, the expected 150 strong exhibition will have a high level mix of the best companies the IPTV industry has to offer. The exhibtion will be joint between three conferences being run over the three days at the Olympia, The IPTV World Forum, The Connected Home and Tv Over Net.

Asia Pacific Broadcasting article on IPTV World Forum Asia 2006

Asia Pacific Broadcasting, the voice of the broadcast and multimedia industry for the last 25 years, attended the IPTV World Forum Asia held in Shanghai, in September earlier this year.

Andrew Yeo of APB, writing about the show said ... ' The IPTV World Forum Asia 2006 in Shanghai was a refreshing event in that some of the speakers were very frank and willing to share their experiences.'

Writing in particular about two of the speakers, benjamin Schwarze of France Telecom, and Paul Berriman of PCCW, the article speaks of how  ' they offered some very interesting insights into the real world of IPTV. '

Benjamin Schwarze spoke of how ' Only second-generation HD-coding technology will enable HD to flourish.'  in his presentation, which kept delegates attentive throughout. Whilst Paul Berriman spoke on how he believed that pay-TV is all about watching great content — and highquality viewing experience is next.

After a successful show in Shanghai - The IPTV World Forum Asia is moving to Singapore, and will be held at the end of November 2007.

July 25, 2006 - hanarotelecom has made inroads into the telecommunication-broadcasting convergence market, rolling out a commercial Triple Play Service (TPS), which they believe to be the first of its kind offered by a domestic fixed-line carrier.

June 6th, 2006 - Telecom Italia subsidiary HanseNet has selected ANT's ANT Fresco TV browser technology for its hybrid DTT/IPTV deployment in Germany, branded 'Alice'. It is being integrated into Advanced Digital Broadcast's (ADB) ADB-3800TW high-definition ready MPEG-4 Part 10 (H.264/AVC) hybrid set-top box and ADB has licensed Fresco and Alcatel's OMC software from ANT for this purpose. The deal marks ADB's entry into the German market with ANT Fresco. ANT's TV browser is already a proven solution in Telecom Italia's Alice service in Italy.
